“Music is a lot of things. For example, it can bring people together from all walks of life and it also has the power to provide an escape when you need a break. It can be easy to get lost in the uncertainty of things, especially right now. There’s a lot of us who are hurting and fighting a great number of fights that it’s easy to put your own self-care on the back burner.
So here’s a mix to let it all out on your makeshift dance floor in hopes to recharge the mind and body as you get ready to do it all over again. Whether it’s busting a move in the backyard with the family, dropping it low in your own bedroom, or just kicking back to relax and enjoy the jams. Because in the midst of darkness it’s good to take the time to pause and reflect on who you are and how far you’ve come.

Today, we feature a mix from one of our very own Chulitxs - the mix comes directly from their vinyl collection. This mix comes directly from Chulita Ale-Ale-Jandra of CVC Austin.

Alejandra aka Ale-Ale-Jandra (she/her/hers) joined Chulita Vinyl Club almost four years ago in hopes to find a community that shared her love for music through records. As an immigrant from the port city of Tampico, Tamaulipas she came to find a home away from home in Austin, Texas. In her crate you can find a little bit of everything including the deepest Quinceañera cuts from when your tias were fighting over the centerpiece, puro perreo con Reggaetón del bueno, all the way to some great Hip-Hop and R&B bangers along with a few sprinkles of Pop anthems that she’s picked up along the way.
